Sunday Review 06.11.17
In case you weren't able to be with us for our time together yesterday, here's what you missed:
Worship Gatherings
- Pastor Rob continued our study of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. As we looked at the fruit of joy, we saw that God's people are to experience and exhibit joy in this life (Phil. 4:4), and that joy and pain can be experienced simultaneously (2 Cor. 6:4-10). We were reminded that God Himself is the reservoir of joy (Neh. 8:10), and that He shares this joy with His people who are yielded to the Spirit (John 15:11). You can watch the message here: Displaying God's Character, part 2
The Gospel Project
- We saw in the construction of the tabernacle in the wilderness how God had planned this as a means of dwelling in the midst of His people (Ex. 25:1-9). We also saw that the tabernacle served as a type that pointed to the Lord Jesus Christ who "dwelt among us" (John 1:14). Believers now serve as "a dwelling place for God by the Spirit" (Eph. 2:21-22), and we look ahead to the New Jerusalem where God's people will enjoy His immediate presence throughout eternity (Rev. 21:3,22).
