This Sunday at Cornerstone Church...

In our passage for consideration this Sunday, the author of Hebrews, concerned that perhaps His audience is not ready to learn of such things as Christ's connection to Melchizedek (cf. 6:20; 7:1ff.), urges them to realize their immaturity, and to join him in “pressing on to maturity...if God permits.”

There is so much to learn of Jesus. Every page of scripture and every part of life points to Christ and our tremendous need for Him. Everywhere God is pointing us to our unrighteousness and our need for His righteousness, our need and His provision, our cursing and His blessing. So maturing in the Christian life is not seeing less of Jesus, but seeing more of Him, not learning that moves us beyond Him, but ever deeper in our understanding of Him, not toward independence from Him, but toward deeper reliance upon Him. Join us as we gather to see more and more of our great Savior!
