Sunday Preview 07.13.25

This Sunday at Cornerstone Church...

Just how sure can we be about our safety and security with God? If we are not “dull of hearing” (sluggish v. 12), we can hear the author declare “we feel sure of better things” (v. 9); that we can have “full assurance of hope until the end” (v. 11); that we are those who are “imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises" (v. 12). What made the author so confident? Was it the “showing” of these listeners? (v. 11) Was it that they “imitated” so well? (v. 12)

Instead of leaving these readers in the limbo of self-analysis, God uses this author of Scripture to point beyond the questionable to the certain. God calls us to have confidence based upon three things:

  1. His Promise/Oath (vv. 13-16)
  2. His Character (vv. 17-18)
  3. His Provision of His Son (vv. 19-20).

Jesus is a sure and steadfast anchor for our souls. This confidence about our eternal relationship with God can provide patient waiting as we endure some of the difficulties of the process. Gather with us as we once again remind one other of the faithfulness of our God!

Sunday Songs

Each week we'll include a list of songs we plan to sing during our time of corporate worship. We hope this helps you prepare for our Sunday gatherings.
