This Sunday at Cornerstone Church...

Our lives are filled with so many twists and turns. So much is out of our control, yet we keep trying to find ways to work our plan, to keep our timelines and goals on track, and to feel a sense of progression. When our plans are moving in accordance with our goals, we feel accomplishment. When we feel off course, we struggle and strive wondering what is wrong.

Our God is never in a panic, and He is never trying to figure out how to redirect. God is the beginning and the end, and He flawlessly works His plans. He providentially incorporates fine details into the course of human affairs to bring about the perfect redemption He intends.

As we think through Hebrews 7 this Sunday, we will marvel over God’s meticulous provision of a Superior Priesthood that is not limited by an inferior covenant or law that could never make us perfect (Hebrews 7:18-19), but instead brought in a "better hope … through which we draw near to God." This priesthood is eternal and final, resulting in absolute salvation (“save to the uttermost” [Hebrews 7:22, 24-25, 27]).

So, while we continue to be tempted to control our lives, we are reminded again that our God is working through all of the twists and turns to bring forth good. May He help us to find comfort and rest in His good ways.
