This Sunday at Cornerstone Church...

“The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.” (1 Timothy 1:15–16)

The church is made up of sinners who have been forgiven by the perfect sacrifice of the perfect Son of God. Jesus came to save all kinds of sinners, and in this salvation, His mercy and patience are on full display. The Apostle Paul, the writer of 1 Timothy, responded to God’s overflowing grace with thanksgiving (v. 12), a desire to be an example of God’s salvation (v. 16), and praise (v. 17). As we celebrate the Lord’s Table together, we want to remember these calls upon us as God’s redeemed. Join us as we worship our Rescuing God!
