This Sunday at Cornerstone Church...

Life presents many statistical improbabilities. Sometimes we see people overcome these improbabilities, and we are amazed. But life also presents many impossibilities. One of these impossibilities is the resurrection of the dead. No man has power over the dead. God, on the other hand, is not bound by natural law. He rules over the created order with His infinite wisdom and His unlimited power. The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is a feat accomplished only through the sovereign power of a sovereign God. He is the God of the impossible. In raising Jesus from the dead, God demonstrated His power, His acceptance of Christ's atoning death, and His pattern for raising all of His people (remember that Jesus is “the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep” 1 Cor. 15:20). But resurrection to life is not the first divine intervention necessary for our entrance into eternal life. Before we could have the hope of a future bodily resurrection, we needed God to demonstrate that He is the God of the impossible by bringing us from spiritual death to spiritual life (Eph. 2:1-9). Join us this Sunday as we worship our God of almighty power.
