Sunday Preview 04.28.19

This Sunday at Cornerstone Church...

Common wisdom has wonderful benefits in this life. It enables us to deal properly with authority (Eccl. 8:1-6) and the anomalies of life (vv. 14-15). However, it will not give us the ability to know the future (vv. 7-8) or to understand all of the intricacies of how life works (vv. 16-17). True wisdom—that which comes from God—enables us to know there is a coming day when all things will be brought into judgment. Regardless of what we see taking place in this life (“when man had power over man to his hurt” [v. 9], the wicked going “in and out of the holy place” being seen as praiseworthy [v. 10], slow judgment on wickedness [v. 11], and inequitable rewards being distributed in life [v. 14]), Solomon declares that “it will be well with those who fear God” (v. 12) and “it will not be well with the wicked” (v. 13). In other words, slow justice is not injustice. God, in His time, will bring forth beautiful justice. It is the ones who come under His sovereign authority (“fear before Him” [v. 12]) who, by virtue of Jesus' work, are declared righteous and receive the reward of the righteous. Join us as we worship our Justifying God!

Sunday Songs

Each week we'll include a list of songs we plan to sing during our time of corporate worship. We hope this helps you prepare for our Sunday gatherings.
