Sunday Preview 05.12.19

This Sunday at Cornerstone Church...

Life is filled with many variables, so people often try to control the circumstances and results of life choices. But in Ecclesiastes 9, Solomon wants to inform us that we are unable to control our lives. Life is filled with randomness (v. 11) and uncertainty (v. 12). In light of of the randomness of life and the uncertainty of when we will die, we should entrust ourselves to God (v. 1), use our time to make an impact before it is too late (vv. 4-6), enjoy the gracious gifts of God (vv. 7-9), work hard at the tasks at hand (v. 10), and apply the wisdom that is available to us (vv. 13-10:1). A life governed by wisdom can protect us from some of the troublesome attacks we might encounter. By way of contrast, living a life characterized by foolishness undoes good works, wisdom, and honorable endeavors (vv. 18-10:1). With all of the randomness of this life, our hearts should seek after unmovable and eternal treasures. It's in our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, that we will find “all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:3). Not only is He unmovable and eternal in His goodness, wisdom, and righteousness, He also provides for believers these same eternal graces. Join us as we worship our wise, good, unmovable Savior!

Sunday Songs

Each week we'll include a list of songs we plan to sing during our time of corporate worship. We hope this helps you prepare for our Sunday gatherings.
