Sunday Preview 05.26.19
This Sunday at Cornerstone Church...
As we approach the concluding section of Ecclesiastes, we will notice Solomon commanding his readers to invest their lives wisely while life lasts (11:1-6), knowing that life holds both wonderful blessings and many days of darkness (11:8; see also v. 2). He has been telling us throughout the book that life is filled with uncertainty. But in the midst of this uncertainty, we ought to rejoice in our youthful days (11:9-10) while remembering our Creator (12:1), for we will stand before Him when our lives are complete (11:9b; 12:2-8). In preparation for worshiping with us this Sunday, consider this short statement from commentator Michael Eaton: “Already the book of Ecclesiastes has had an element of exhortation, for the life of faith has been not merely described but commended. The life of indifference and unbelief has been placed against it on the scales and been found wanting. Now the Preacher calls for a verdict.”
Each week we'll include a list of songs we plan to sing during our time of corporate worship. We hope this helps you prepare for our Sunday gatherings.
