This Sunday at Cornerstone Church...
Why be a part of a gospel-loving, gospel-preaching, gospel-dependent church? As we have seen, the gospel produces fruit—both eternal (justification, or being declared righteous) and in the present (sanctification, or demonstrating righteousness) (Rom. 1:8-17). This righteousness is vitally important, for "the wrath of God is revealed from heaven AGAINST all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men" (Rom. 1:18). Paul will proceed to describe who warrants this wrath of God. He will tell us that both Jews and Gentiles will be held accountable (Rom. 3:19) and have "all sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Rom. 3:23).
Because God’s wrath is revealed "against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men," and all are declared to be sinners, we need what God offers through the gospel. God offers to declare us righteous (justification) through faith in Jesus Christ (Rom. 3:26). He also will continue His work within us as we live out our lives in faith. He will bring forth demonstrations of practical righteousness in our lives (sanctification).
Join us this Sunday as we continue to desire to be a gospel-saturated church for the glory of God. For further explanation of the gospel, click here.
